Why Simple Living Works For Working Moms

The closer I walk with God, the more I want my home to reflect the desires that He is stirring up in my heart. But here’s the problem. I work a 40+ hour week in the early childhood education industry. I’m married to my wonderful husband, who until March 2020 had an hour and a half commute one way to work. Three kids, swimming lessons, special needs, church, friends, family, home groups, the list goes on. You know this story, I’m guessing that you are this story too. That’s why you’re here, right?

In 2019 I realized that all the stuff I had in my home, on my calendar, and on my preverbal plate was not only making me a nervous wreck, but was starting to get square in the middle of my relationship with the savior I KNEW I needed. Something had to give, I couldn’t keep going in the same direction of wanting things to get better but not knowing what that really looked like. Then it all changed, with as simple laundry video. I learned about this whole family minimalism and I was hooked. As I decluttered my home I found that I actually did have all that time that I had so desperately been looking for. It was there, it was just cluttered up with too much laundry and piles of paper.
